Day One: Digital Implant Dentistry: A Comprehensive One-Day Program

Program Outline:

  • Foundations of Digital Implant Dentistry: Discover the advantages of a digital workflow, understand case selection criteria, and gain an overview of essential software and hardware.
  • Digital Implant Planning: Master CBCT integration, virtually plan implant placement with 3D simulation, and design precise surgical guides.
  • Guided and Navigated Implant Surgery: Explore the principles of guided surgery, and learn about immediate loading protocols. Dive into the world of navigated surgery, including real-time guidance and advanced navigation systems.
  • Digital Implant Prosthetics: Explore intraoral scanners for accurate impressions, design implant-supported restorations (crowns, bridges, dentures), and explore CAD/CAM fabrication and material selection as well as 3D printing.
  • Advanced Techniques and Case Presentations: Gain insights into managing complex cases, avoiding complications, and see case presentations.

Learning Objectives:

  • Upon completion of this program, participants will be able to:

    1. Understand the principles and workflow of digital implant dentistry, from planning to prosthetic restoration.
    2. Confidently plan and execute guided implant surgeries using surgical guides and/or navigation.
    3. Utilize digital technologies for the design and fabrication of implant-supported restorations.

Day 2: Introduction to Digital Guided Surgery Hands-On

This introductory program is perfectly suited for the general dentist wanting to embrace the enormous benefits and broad application of guided surgery. This full day didactic program will focus on the entire digital workflow available today for the management of patients requiring the replacement of the single tooth, multiple missing teeth, and the full arch.

Participants will gain a profound understanding of the rationale and advantages conferred by digital planning and guidance. Emphasis will be placed on discussions related to understanding techniques for following a systematic digital workflow to achieve optimum implant positioning.

Learning Objectives:

  • Review and understand CBCT imaging and pertinent anatomy related to implant placement
  • Compare and contrast analog and digital protocols for single tooth, short span and full arch rehabilitation
  • Review the benefits of immediate-load protocols with a digital workflow
  • Understand the learning curves, limitations and complications that may be associated with guided surgery
